Summer 2023

Dear Cougar Families,

The staff at Campbellsport School District appreciate your support this past 2022-2023 school year.  It has been a pleasure working with you and your student(s)!

In order to help your student achieve the most from Campbellsport School District, it is important that they maintain positive attendance.  Attendance may have been a challenge this year, and/or become a challenge in future years, or maybe attendance has not been a challenge at all; whichever it may be, we encourage you to take a look at the tips below on how to improve or maintain positive attendance.

Tips on Improving School Attendance:

  • Positive attendance benefits your student’s academic progress and success

  • The bus is a consistent way to ensure your student arrives on time to school

  • Try to schedule appointments in the beginning or at the end of the day, so your student doesn’t miss unnecessary class time

  • Connect with the School Nurse if medication can be taken at school for allergies, colds, coughs, mental health conditions, etc.

  • Monitor your student’s attendance on Skyward - if absences are marked incorrectly, reach out to the secretary and let them know as soon as possible

  • Patterns are formed early (missing school)- it is more difficult to break a bad habit than saying “no” in the beginning

  • Connect with school staff (principals, counselors, social worker, teachers, etc.) early on if there are other barriers to school attendance for your student

  • Positive attendance helps with building relationships with peers and staff; and also gaining extra support

Please, connect with the School Social Worker if you need help or support with any attendance related concerns, food concerns, transportation, housing, employment, your students health, etc.:

Ms. Kari, @ 920.9604731 or Kriehl@csd.k12.wi.us.

  • Please make sure we have your correct email and the best phone numbers so that we can reach you

Sincerely,

Ms. Kari Riehl, District School Social Worker
